In 2020, the School for Dog Trainers ran a survey to seek the opinions of canine professionals located across the United States. As part of our mission to inform and educate the next generation of dog trainers, we wanted to understand some of the key trends that were influencing the dog training industry. Among these trends, we wanted to see how education and experience impacted income levels, the proportion of trainers who operated full time vs. part-time, and the range of dog training services that were being offered.
You can see the results of the 2020 National Dog Trainer Survey here.
The world has changed a lot in the past five years – but is that true in the world of dog training? In the midst of the Covid pandemic, it seemed that dog trainers were popping up anywhere and everywhere; five years later, are those trainers still training dogs? Does education still play a key role in driving success in this industry? And in a society that is increasingly influenced by the role of social media, which online channels are dog trainers using as part of their marketing efforts?
Our 2025 National Dog Trainer survey is designed to answer these questions – and more! We want to hear from dog trainers across the United States to gain a true understanding of how our industry is evolving. All you need to do is complete the survey below to make your voice heard.
Note: All responses to this survey are anonymous and confidential. The School for Dog Trainers does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) via this survey.
The survey results will be published later in 2025 on the School for Dog Trainers website. Want to be notified when the results go live? Enter your email address below, and we’ll contact you when the results are available.
