The first step is to complete an online applicationĀ  here. There is no obligation when filling this out. It allows us to contact you regarding the type of training you are interested in and when you would like to attend. If there is availability for that school, all we need is a $500 deposit to guarantee a spot in the particular course of your choice. If you would like to ensure housing at the training facility, the housing payment is due as well. This amount depends on how long your course is. Housing is $125 per week. For example, a 6 week course would have a housing cost of $750. The balance of the training course is not due until the first day of class after your arrival.

We are currently offering a $500 USD Discount for students attending from a country where we have not previously had a student attend. >>LEARN MORE

Depending on the country you are traveling from, you may need a letter of invitation. We are happy to provide this once you have confirmed a spot in a particular school with your deposit. We are happy to be of any assistance in securing a visa if needed. Many students ask about taking multiple courses while they are here. Because the first few weeks of most courses overlap, it is possible to take more than one course if you are planning on staying for 12 weeks. Shorter periods, 6 or 8 weeks do not allow for enough time to cover the information in more than 1 course. The longer the course, the more ā€œhands onā€ time students have with a variety of dogs.

We understand that some international dog trainer school students may be traveling 2 to 3 days to arrive at our destination, so we are happy to accommodate our international students 2-3 days before the course starts to recover from ā€œjet lagā€ at no additional cost. There are 2 international airport options. Charlotte International Airport in Charlotte, NC (airport code: CLT) and Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO), an airport just west of Greensboro, NC are both within an hour drive of our facility. We can provide a transportation to and from either of these airports.

Documents needed when traveling with dogs differs from country to country as well as airline to airline. If you plan on traveling with a dog either to or from the United States, please check with your airline PRIOR to booking a flight. Getting the proper information in advance could save you a great deal of money in cargo and additional charges.

What Our International Students Say...

Take a moment to listen to Daniella Carrera, an international student from Ecuador, who attended our 18-week Service Dog Trainer Program in 2018.Ā  Daniella talks about her overall experience at our School for Dog Trainers and describes the intensity of the program and how it prepared her for a career as a professional dog trainer.

Whether you are an experienced dog handler looking to add an additional area of training or a person whose love for dogs is leading them to a career in dog training, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have about our international dog trainer school or our annual dog trainer school scholarship. Our courses fill up quickly so contact us.
