Our 2023 International Dog Trainer School Scholarship: What You Need To Know (apply by March 1st!)

If you live outside of the United States and aspire to be a professional dog trainer, the School for Dog Trainers has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you.

Our International Scholarship is available to aspiring canine professionals from across the globe. The scholarship recipient will attend our six-month Master Dog Trainer program based at our Main Campus in Harmony, NC.  

Perhaps you want to start or grow your own dog training business, or you’re interested in learning how service dogs and working dogs are trained. Our Master Dog Trainer program allows you to learn about every aspect of canine behavior and training.

What does the International Scholarship include?

The International Dog Trainer School Scholarship from the School for Dog Trainers enables the recipient to attend our 24-week Master Dog Trainer program across our two campus facilities in Harmony, NC. 

The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and housing for the duration of your education at the School for Dog Trainers. Our Master Dog Trainer program is valued at $17,775 USD.

The next International Scholarship will be awarded in March 2023. The recipient will attend the Master Dog Trainer program beginning in July 2023.

What is the School for Dog Trainers?

The School for Dog Trainers is the global leader in canine education. Each of our programs combine practical training and classroom training to provide students with a well-rounded understanding of canine behavior. 

Seven different programs of study are offered at our School. Our most popular program is our Master Dog Trainer program. This course is renowned across the dog training industry for providing the most comprehensive education available for ambitious canine professionals.

In addition to providing world-class canine education, our programs also educate students on business theory. This understanding of marketing, advertising and website development prepares students upon graduation to help them promote their business.

After graduation, we also offer ongoing support for Alumni from the School for Dog Trainers with frequent professional development opportunities and job placement assistance.

94% of our graduates are employed as professional dog trainers or have started their own business in the industry.

What is the Master Dog Trainer program?

The Master Dog Trainer program is a 24-week course covering all aspects of dog training and canine behavior. It is our most popular program and is perfect for trainers who are looking to jump-start their career as a professional dog trainer.

During this course, students learn information from all of the other programs that we offer. These include:

  • Obedience and Behavior Modification Professionals Course
  • Police K9 Trainer Course
  • Service Dog Trainer Course
  • Search and Rescue Dog Trainer Course

The Master Dog Trainer program is a mixture of hands-on training with a wide variety of dog breeds, along with classroom learning which will establish a thorough knowledge of canine behavior and theory.

Our staff of instructors have the experience and expertise to give aspiring dog trainers the tools they need to prosper after graduation.

International dog trainer school scholarship

Who is eligible for the International Scholarship?

The eligibility criteria for our 2023 International Scholarship is as follows:

  • You must be a citizen of a country other than the United States.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • U.S. citizens living overseas are not eligible.
  • Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2023.
  • The recipient must be available to attend our Summer semester, beginning on July 3, 2023.

The recipient of the International Scholarship will be informed on March 15, 2023.

Applying for the International Scholarship

The application process is a five-step process, outlined below.

Step One
Submit an essay of between 500 to 2,000 words, explaining why you want to become a dog trainer and how you would use your knowledge after graduation from the School for Dog Trainers.

Step Two
Submit three letters of recommendation.

Step Three
Complete and submit a Student Application Packet.

Step Four
Create a short video – approximately one minute in length – explaining why you should be chosen for the International Scholarship.

Step Five
Share the video on our Facebook page with the hashtag #LearnToTrainDogs, and encourage your friends and family to Like and Share your post!
